The Modern Slavery Act 2015 (‘The Act’) is a major step forward in confronting human trafficking and slavery in the modern age, both in the UK and abroad. Arc Recruitment (Yorkshire) Ltd (“Arc Recruitment”) is a privately-owned recruitment company providing permanent and temporary staffing services to its clients operating in both the public and private sectors. We have strong commitment to being a responsible business and set out below the steps to help ensure that modern slavery and human trafficking are not taking place in our supply chains or in any part of our business. As well as obtaining a GLAA licence in 2017.
Arc recruitment recognises that some of the sectors in which its clients operate maybe more susceptible to human trafficking and slavery than others. Nevertheless Arc Recruitment is committed to ensuring and driving high standards across all of its supply chains, irrespective of sector. We believe that, in conjunction with the policies implemented by our clients, Arc Recruitment can drive out any features of human trafficking and slavery from our supply chains.
Arc Recruitment places overriding importance on working only with suppliers who place equal importance on their obligations towards eliminating modern slavery that Arc Recruitment does. Arc Recruitment will not work with any organisation unable to demonstrate an equal commitment. We expect the staff employed by our suppliers, whether permanent or temporary, to have the same basic right to be treated with respect and dignity at work as our own employees, temporary workers and contractors. We believe all forms of employment must be chosen and there must be no forced, bonded or involuntary labour in the market place.
Arc Recruitment educates its employees on factors which could indicate that a temporary worker may be subject to undue influence. Employees are actively encouraged to report any suspicious activity to the authorities. Our Industrial Consultant has attended a Modern Slavery course off site.
The board of directors of Arc Recruitment believe that driving out slavery in any form from its supply chains is fundamental and central to the aims and values of Arc Recruitment. Accordingly the Arc Recruitment board of directors has approved this document.
